The No BS Press is a spin-off of the No BS Press e-mailouts which had a readership of 18,000+ and became too difficult to maintain and send out due to the new restrictions on volume emailing.
No BS Press has historically dealt with political and religious issues in open-minded, non-partisan and objective points of view.
As human beings, we are burdened with our inability to precisely turn our thoughts into precise communications and impart them to others. Therefore, it is my goal to decipher or at least clarify news headlines by applying logic, common sense and the rules of our English language.
So to begin, there is the most basic and elemental cause of worldwide discord and strife:
LANGUAGE - There are 6,800 known languages spoken in the 200 countries of the world and scores of others that have disappeared in time. Additionally, and to add further to the confusion, there are certain select people that speak in "tongues", all "God inspired" yet unintelligible to any others except themselves.
Translation is an activity comprising the interpretation of the meaning of a text in one language into another language. The goal of translation is to establish equivalence between the languages and communicate the same message, since words and ideas cannot be expressed identically in different languages and one has to contend with contexts, idioms, dialects, inferences, innuendo and varying rules of local and dialectic grammar.
Thusly, a problem in communication arises from the way in which language is learned, either by familiarity or by instruction. Confusion and imprecision in the translation of languages is only the beginning of learning why there is worldwide intolerance, war and violent confrontation.
The largest English-language dictionary, contains some 616,500 "words. Of these, about 200,000 words are in common use today. That's a lot of verbage! We confound and confuse our language with words that have many definitions which appear in Roget's Thesaurus. This book is in every school in America and has convoluted the accuracy, specificity and very basis of verbal and written communications in the English language. By giving multiple meanings to virtually every word in the English language, Roget has enabled the English language to be so non-specific that no one understands each other.
Many people prey on the imprecision of written and verbal communications to convey their own philosophies and agendas many times, with little regard for truth or integrity and thus, unquestioning readers will unwittingly propagate a myth without realizing the eventual consequences.
The Internet is a vast forum of information and those who blindly believe everything they see or hear without research or confirmation, propagate misinformation, ignorance and deception.
