BUSH AND HIS EX-GENERALS

1. Gen. Eric K. Shinseki - he publicly questioned the size of the proposed occupation force.

2. Gen. Tommy R. Franks - criticized for "retiring" just as an insurgency was brewing.

3. Lt. Gen. Ricardo S. Sanchez - Abu Ghraib prison abuse scandal.

4. Gen. George W. Casey Jr. - failed policy passing security responsibilities to unprepared Iraqi forces

5. General David H. Petraeus parroting the same thing the generals of Vietnam told us - "We are winning."

Generals are not independent thinkers. They serve at the "whim" of the Commander-in chief. Obviously we cannot expect independent, honest assessments of the war.
