Is this true?
In the absence of international referundums that accurately measure worldwide opinion, we must rely on various polls that have historically proven to be fair and honest and to assess the accuracy and truth of these polls is to study the top 10 or 20 domestic and international pollsters and average out their statistics. The main organizations are the Pew Research Center, WorldPublicOpinion.org., Harris Interactive, Zogby, Nielsen Ratings, Ipsos MORI, and the Chicago Council on Global Affairs....... among many others.
Given that virtually all the major news media from around the world are controlled by their respective governments through subsidies and censorship, these independent polls have produced the most consistent and real results concerning public opinion. In a democracy run by the majority, public opinion is the very foundation of its success.
A quote worthy of attention - "Dissent is the highest form of patriotism", is the basis on which the United States was founded. Now, it seems that any U.S. citizen who questions U.S. governmental policy is accused of hating America or being unpatriotic and should "Love it or leave it."
This attitude comes from a population that has grown too rich, too fat and too trusting of the greedy, self-serving parasites we inappropriately call our "leaders."
The people do NOT serve the government. The government serves the people and that ideology is what has made this country the democratic model for the rest of the world...........................until now.
It is time for us to ask ourselves two questions:
1. How and who got us here?
2. How do we fix it?
If the United States can endure the next 18 months without alienating the rest of the world and if this administration can refrain from starting any more wars or interfering in the sovereignty of other countries, there is hope.
The Democrats, who will undoubtedly inherit this fiasco, will have to dig deep to bring the United States back to its once respected and internationally recognized position as a world leader.
